Interior Design in Jhenaidah

Interior work in Jhenaidah: mostly family houses finished in stages

A lot of the interior work in Jhenaidah starts with a house that has grown over time. A ground floor built years ago, a first floor added later, and now a family ready to finish the rooms properly, often ahead of a wedding or a relative coming home. The job is rarely a blank slate; it means matching new cabinetry, ceilings and lighting to walls and floors that are already there.

Jhenaidah sits on the Nabaganga in Khulna Division, at the road junction where routes to Jashore, Magura and Kushtia meet. That position keeps the town busy with traders, transport businesses and farm-produce dealers.

Homes in Jhenaidah: the upper floor, the drawing room and the kitchen

Most homeowners here live in an independent house rather than a flat, though a few apartment buildings have gone up near the town centre. The requests we hear most are consistent: a drawing room that can seat a large family gathering, a proper kitchen with storage that reaches the ceiling, and bedrooms with built-in wardrobes instead of freestanding almirahs.

  • A formal drawing room with a false ceiling, cove lighting and a TV wall that hides the wiring
  • A kitchen rebuilt around the gas line, with an exhaust hood and a separate washing area
  • A prayer space or a quiet reading corner on the upper floor

Shops, chambers and diagnostic centres along Jhenaidah's main roads

Jhenaidah's economy leans on agriculture and the trade that surrounds it, so the business interiors people ask about follow that pattern. Fertiliser and seed dealers, mobile and electronics shops, pharmacies, diagnostic centres and doctors' chambers make up much of the demand.

For a diagnostic centre or chamber, we focus on a waiting area that can take a crowd, washable wall and floor finishes, and clear separation between reception, consultation and sample collection. For a retail shop, the priorities are usually lockable display, good shelf lighting and a counter position that lets one or two staff see the whole floor.

Materials that cope with Jhenaidah's heat, damp and termites

Summers in this part of the country are hot and dry, then the monsoon brings months of high humidity. Ground-floor rooms in older houses often show rising damp at the base of the walls, and termites are a common problem in the region; they go after untreated timber and cheap particle board first.

  • Skip plain particle board anywhere near the floor; treated board or marine ply holds up far better against termites
  • Lift ground-floor wardrobes on a tiled plinth or aluminium legs so the carcass never touches a damp floor
  • Treat the slab and the base of the walls against termites before any built-in woodwork goes in
  • Choose light, heat-reflective ceiling finishes and plan the lighting around ceiling fans
  • Fix damp at the source with waterproofing and plaster repair before applying putty and paint

How a Jhenaidah project runs with our Dhaka team

Interior Villa is based in Mohammadpur, Dhaka, so for Jhenaidah we plan the first site visit carefully: measurements, photographs and a conversation with everyone in the household who has a say. We send the layout and photorealistic 3D views over WhatsApp, walk you through them on a video call, and revise until you approve.

Once materials are chosen and the itemized quotation is signed off, fabricated items and fittings are transported to site and installed under a project manager, who sends regular photo updates and returns for key stages and the final handover.

What an interior in Jhenaidah costs

We use the same per-square-foot tiers for every district:

As an example, finishing a 1,500 sqft upper floor at the standard tier would come to roughly ৳27–42 lakh. Because the site is outside Dhaka, travel and material transport are listed as separate lines in the itemized quotation.

  • Budget: ৳1,000–1,500 per sqft
  • Standard: ৳1,800–2,800 per sqft
  • Premium: ৳3,500–6,000+ per sqft

Questions from Jhenaidah

Can you finish only the new floor of our house and leave the ground floor as it is?

Yes, that is a common request. We measure and photograph the existing floor as well, so colours, door styles and ceiling heights on the new floor feel connected to the old one. You approve the 3D design for the upper floor only, and the quotation covers just that area plus travel and transport.

Do we need to come to Dhaka to choose materials?

Not necessarily. We share photos and short videos of laminates, tiles, fabrics and hardware and discuss them with you on a video call. The whole project can be approved from home.

How do you stop termites damaging new furniture?

We treat the floor and wall base with anti-termite chemical before built-in work starts, use treated or marine plywood for carcasses, and keep woodwork off damp surfaces. If an existing house has an active infestation, the source needs to be treated first, and we will tell you during the site visit if that is needed.
